1906 - "The Great San Fransisco Earthquake"
This happened on April 18, 1906. This incredible natural disaster shook the San Andreas fault, left 3,000 people dead, and destroyed 28,000 buildings. It also made 250,000 people homeless and caused 500 million dollars in damage (1906 dollars). It was felt from parts of Los Angeles to Southern Oregon, and it is known to be one of the most significant natural disasters in California history.

1989 - "Loma Prieta earthquake"
This happened on October 19, 1989. It killed 67 people and caused over 5 billion dollars in damages. At 5:04, 25 minutes before game 3 of the World Series, the earthquake was felt throughout San Fransisco. While the stadium remained intact, many buildings around it crumbled. It was centered around Loma Prieta Peak, in the Santa Cruz mountains. Many baseball fans can still remember this event today.
